Art therapy

Art therapy

The arts (music, drawing, painting, movement, drama, story-telling, modelling) provide a means of self-expression and can reveal the resources to one’s own strengths and abilities. Art therapy combines the traditional psychotherapeutic theories and techniques with an understanding of the psychological aspects of the creative process.

Art Therapy workshops consist of the perspective of human development which stem from the traditional anthropological approach and modern psychology: perception, consciousness and the senses, perceptive drawing, painting, phenomenological way of seeing a painting, modelling, dynamic drawing, fairy tales, diagnosis, perception, interpretation, introduction to form drawing, diagnosis through form drawing, temperaments.

Art Therapy workshops focus on developing skills that enable participants to use specific creative techniques and mutual relationships for healing, personal growth and social change. Art therapy aims to teach participants how to use therapeutic painting, drawing and modelling, which promote healing processes of the mind, body and spirit. The primary emphasis is on experiential learning. Participants train their perception and quality of their senses, develop their own sense of self and behaviour and master the techniques. Then they are able to expand on what they have learned and integrate it within themselves. During the workshop, participants: achieve a better sense of perception, observation and vigilance, activate their creative potential, develop a sense of self-awareness, release physical and mental blocks, improve self-expression, concentration, and work habits, improve interpersonal communication and listening skills, relax and reduce stress, and connect better with the world and the dynamics of the world around them.
