Fondation Smartpeace from Switzerland, promotes peaceful relationships between human beings, groups and peoples in all countries of the world by supporting without distinction to country, nationality, race, religion, gender or any other grounds for discrimination. Itsupports activities of non-governmental organizations like Association Amica Educa which support institutions, groups and people to become true pioneers of peace.Fondation Smartpeace is providing funds for Association Amica Educa’s three year project “Breaking the Silence on Gender Based Violence”.

This project aims to prevent gender-based violence through information, education and communication based on social values that support equal rights and respect for all members of the community regardless of gender. Training of volunteers, puppet and forum shows, psycho-educational workshops, sports day and a children’s art exhibition are just some of the activities that have been used to bring the project topics closer to schoolchildren.

The first year of the project was implemented in the school year 2017/2018 in the elementary school “Kreka”. Over 300 children and 30 teachers and professional staff participated in the project activities. All project activities listed above were carried out according to plan.

The second year of the project was carried out in the school year 2018/2019 in the primary school “Miladije“ and the regional school “Solana“. Over 500 children and 40 teachers and members of the professional staff participated in the project activities.

The third year of the project is planned for the school year 2019/2020 and will be conducted at the primary school “Solina”.
