From July 2023, Amica Educa is implementing new project named Empowerment of Young Women – Start of the Change, with which it plans to contribute to a better employability and socio-economic integration of disadvantaged young women by improving their personal and business skills.
The three-year project is planned to include 50 young women aged 15 to 35 who:
- have difficulties in family environment: they come from alternative care – from foster families, children’s villages, homes for children and youth without parental care; families at risk of separation or families affected by poverty, family violence, illness, single mothers, young women with poor family and social networks,
- unemployed young women, those with insufficient income or only seasonally employed, exploited by employers without real opportunities to independently improve their socio-economic status, “NEET” group of young women – those who are not in education, employment or training,
- young women with disabilities,
- young women from rural areas,
- other young women in social need…
In working with young women, The Next Economy methodology will be used, which will enable them to develop their talents, build self-confidence and improve the skills they need for more successful integration into the labor market – basic life skills and employability skills.
In addition to education, participants will be supported through individual coaching sessions and individual and/or group psychotherapy sessions.
The project also foresees familiarization with workplaces -“job shadowing”, vocational trainings and the organization of 2 two-day Young Women Camps for project participants, which will enable them to consolidate and multiply newly acquired skills and knowledge through additional workshops and networking with other young women.
The Youth Forum is the final project activity that will connect representatives of relevant institutions, organizations and the private sector with project participants as well as other young people, during which young people will have the opportunity for self-presentation and discussion about their position and steps needed for changes and improvements.
The project is being realized with the financial support of the Fokus Frauen Foundation from Switzerland.
