Volunteer Activities

Within various projects, young people take part in volunteer activities through which they develop responsibility, empathy, solidarity, teamwork, organisational skills and a sense of belonging to the community. Youth volunteering may include support in organising workshops, public events, promotional and educational activities, as well as various activities focused on mental health, gender equality, violence prevention and youth participation in the community.

One particularly important form of volunteering at Amica Educa is the involvement of young people in the roles of peer educators and peer counsellors. After completing prior training and with continuous professional and mentoring support, young people take on an active role in supporting their peers through peer workshops, supportive conversations and communication with young people. In this way, they do not remain only participants in the programme, but become important agents of peer support, mutual empowerment and positive change in the community.
