Communication and Empathy

Communication and Empathy

The Communication and Empathy workshop focuses on developing skills that support clearer expression, deeper understanding, and healthier interpersonal relationships. It is based on the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) developed by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, an approach that offers practical tools for building relationships grounded in mutual respect, understanding, and authenticity. More information about this approach is available at: www.cnvc.org.

In everyday communication, misunderstandings often arise from judgments, assumptions, and rapid reactions that hinder genuine understanding. This workshop creates space to explore the internal processes that shape the way we speak, respond, and listen to others. Particular attention is given to distinguishing observation from interpretation, understanding one’s own emotions and needs, and developing the ability to listen with empathy.

Through experiential learning and practical examples, participants develop greater clarity in expressing what matters to them and learn how to engage in conversations that reduce tension and foster mutual understanding. The workshop contributes to the development of communication that builds trust, supports cooperation, and strengthens the quality of relationships in both personal and professional contexts.

During the workshop participants:

  • learn the core principles and key elements of Nonviolent Communication
  • recognize and transform unconscious judgments, criticism, and evaluative language in their own communication
  • develop the ability to clearly express feelings and needs
  • strengthen skills for engaging in constructive dialogue in personal and professional relationships
  • deepen their capacity to establish empathetic connections with themselves and others
