The Emotional Literacy and Emotion Regulation workshop focuses on developing the ability to recognize, understand, and express emotions in ways that support personal well-being and healthy relationships with others. Emotions are an important source of information about our inner states and needs. However, when we do not understand them or do not know how to express them, they may lead to suppression, emotional overwhelm, or conflicts in relationships.
During the workshop, participants explore how emotions arise, how they are connected to thoughts, bodily reactions, and behaviour, and what role they play in decision-making and relationship building. Special attention is given to emotional regulation—the ability to recognize what is happening within us, pause before reacting, and find ways to express emotions clearly, responsibly, and constructively.
The workshop provides space for developing greater emotional awareness, understanding one’s own reactions, and discovering ways to cope with intense emotions in everyday life situations.
During the workshop participants:
- develop the ability to recognize and name different emotions
- explore the connection between emotions, needs, and behaviour
- earn how to pause and regulate intense emotional reactions
- learn techniques for calming the nervous system in stressful situations
- develop skills for expressing emotions clearly and responsibly
